“Welcome to the website for St Jude’s, Wexford”.

St Jude’s is a vibrant Anglican parish; serving this area of Toronto since 1848. We strive to be an open and welcoming faith community for any who are looking for a new spiritual home and for those who appreciate the liturgy of the Anglican Church. Especially during these challenging times, I hope you will take the time to see that our cause is hope – each and every day.

Help Our Group Raise Funds

By Using Gift Cards for Your Everyday Spending

More Information

Do you buy groceries, gas, household items, shop at department stores, do you eat in at restaurants, go to the movies or need gifts for holidays, birthday and special events?

FundScrip is a fundraising program that lets the Church of St. Jude (Wexford) raise much needed funds simply by purchasing gift cards to the stores you are already shopping at.

For example: you purchase a $100 grocery card and you will receive a $100 grocery card and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the Church of St. Jude (Wexford).

We encourage you to invite your family members, friends, co-workers and neighbours to participate in FundScrip as well. After all, they probably buy groceries and gas just like you do.

How does this work?

1. Download/print form and fill it out with the quantity of cards for each retailer and sum up your order total (there are also printed paper forms available in the office).

2. Payment in 3 modes: Cash, Cheque or E-Transfer (refer to description below).

3. Drop off your payment + filled order form in a labeled + sealed envelope in the secure Mailbox at the Church of St. Jude (wexford).

OR

Submit the filled order form with a note that an E-transfer was sent.

PAYMENT METHODS:

Cheque: Payable to Church of St. Jude (Wexford) with “Fundscrip” mention in memo.

On-line options worship services. Our services are primarily available through our Facebook page, and are linked to the home page of our website, www.stjudewexford.ca.

Office Hours. The parish office is open Tuesday to Friday from 9:00am – Noon. Our Food Bank. The Deacon’s Pantry Food Bank continues to operate in the church every Wednesday (10:00am – Noon).

Spanish service reimagined. After some consultation and listening, we will be changing how we offer how we bring the Good News to members of St Jude’s whose first language is Spanish. Effective immediately, replacing the monthly Mass in Spanish, we will offer a new opportunity for the whole St Jude’s family to worship together on Sundays. The second Sunday of each month will have a more intentional bilingual flavour at our 10:30 mass. In addition, we hope to reintroduce Sunday school on these weeks. We look forward to seeing you there as we bring this cause of hope to a new level!

Re-Stock the Pantry Food Drive. Our pre-summer Food drive continues. Thanks to everyone who has answered the call, your generosity is appreciated. Items most in need include: Tuna, Sardines, Instant Coffee, Sugar, Rice, Pasta Sauce, Chick Peas, and Red Beans.

Community Sale and Fundraiser. Our thanks (once again) to everyone who helped in any way towards the success of this fundraiser. We are very happy to report that this fundraiser made $4260.00! Congratulations to everyone for their hard work.

Bible BBQ is returning! Our annual education series with the parish of St Peter & St Simon the Apostle has returned! On Tuesday June 18 we will meet at Fr Geoff’s Rectory (500 Woodbine Ave) at 6:00pm. This year the series is called By Water and the Spirit – looking at the theme of water in Scripture. All are welcome.

Next Generation Ministry: Ignite. This week (Wednesday June 19) will be the final week for our Deanery Next Generation Ministry before a summer break; however, vacation bible school opportunities will be offered. Please see the website for more information: www.ignitefamilyministry.com

Season of Spiritual Renewal. Over the next 2 years, all people in the Diocese of Toronto are invited into a season of spiritual renewal. This will be an unfolding process and will encourage us to each participate in how we are best called to continue as a people of faith in our personal lives and as we live within community as a parish and Diocese. Each week, a prayer will be printed over the coming week for personal reflection (it is located after the readings for the day).

Carpet Bowling: Our Holy Rollers meet on Fridays at 9:45am in the Hall. New members are welcome.

Next Fundscrip. Thanks to everyone who took part in our Fundscrip fundraising effort.  The order is now available to be picked up.

Free Estate planning available. The Anglican Diocese of Toronto Foundation has partnered with Willfora to offer a free portal to set up a personal will online. This option is particularly applicable to those who have a simple family and financial situation. There is no obligation in how you designate your estate and you can always consult with a licensed lawyer (separately) if you have any questions.

Prayers during the week at St Jude’s. Throughout the year, we live-stream prayer services through Facebook on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in both English and Spanish (they also get linked to the homepage of our website for those not on Facebook).

Readings:

Tuesday June 18~ Baruch 4:21-24; Luke 12:4-12

Thursday June ~ Sirach: 48:2-14; Matthew 6:7-15

Supporting the life and ministry of St Jude’s. As we reengage in what it means to be good stewards of our parish, we thank you for your gifts of time, talent, and treasure as we continue this cause of hope in our Diocese.

Last week we held 7 online services engaging people looking for prayer and connection.  We also provided food to 42 households (representing 115 individuals) on Wednesday June 12. Please contact our parish office (416-755-5872) to make your donation or make your donation online.
